Female chaffinch

When I took this photograph (through glass, as it happens) of a bird in the back garden, I thought it was either a female or juvenile house sparrow or greenfinch. To find out, I posted a message on the RSPB's "Identify this!" forum and was told that it was neither; it's a female chaffinch.
