Into the sun

Into the sun

27/04/2011

When I took a photograph of a toy windmill against the sun with my Fujifilm S9500, I probably thought that I wouldn't do something similar if I had a more expensive camera. But on a bright sunny day at Castlerigg stone circle in the Lake District, I did precisely that.

A lens flare filter has been part of Adobe Photoshop for years, but the effect in this photograph is the real thing. Incidentally, pointing a camera at the sun in the middle of the day isn't recommended. The manual for my Nikon D5000 says that it could cause a fire.
