Praktica BCA electronic
29/11/2009
When I saw that Photo Friday‘s 27 November 2009 theme was From my past, I thought I’d take a photograph of my first camera: this Praktica BCA electronic.
My parents gave me the camera when I was about 10, with two Sigma lenses (28-70mm and 70-210mm). For comparison, the fixed lens on my Fujifilm S9500 is 28-300mm.
The Praktica was made in the German Democratic Republic and was sturdy enough to survive the rigours of international travel. It’s been to France, Majorca, North America (where it got dropped) and across the UK.
I’ve taken some of my favourite photographs with this camera, and because it’s a film camera, I’ve still got them.
