<p>The lagoon was so shallow I could stand in the middle of it to take this photograph. I don&#8217;t have a waterproof cover for my camera, so as I lowered the camera towards the water I had to be careful not to get it wet.</p>

<p>I had neither the time nor courage to take more than one photograph. Instead I used the computer to convert it to black and white and adjusted the levels so that the person on the left almost disappeared into the shadows.</p>
